The land of kings

Tanvi and I went to Rajasthan (Jaipur and Udaipur) in March 2023, during our last semester break at Ashoka. It was a short budget trip, where we experienced Holi in Jaipur with a bunch of backpakers from around the world. It was also Tanvi’s first trip to Rajasthan. We both thoroughly enjoyed it.

(L - R) A man stretches by Lake Pichola on the Gangaur Ghat, The Hawa Mahal at Night (we had to get a meal at a Cafe only to get this view), Bagore ki Haveli from Lake Pichola.
The Ganguar Ghat is home to many pigeons, and people of all ages seize the opportunity to feed them everyday.
(L) An exerpt from the Dharohar folk dance show at Bagore ki Haveli and (R) One of the many art shops in Udaipur. Udaipur is home to a tradition of miniature artists, dating back to atleast 4 generations. We had a great time talking to and learning from Yogesh Soni, who's grandfather painted the elephant mural at the Udaipur City Palace.
(L) A massive holi celebration at Govind Dev Ji Temple, Jaipur and (R) Pauline is smeared by a bright dash of yellow colour during the festival.
